Mark Grentell

In 2008 Mark graduated from NIDA with a post-graduate degree in directing studies. He specialized in musical theatre and has worked as the Resident Director on Australian touring musicals including Ave Q (Arts Asia Pacific), Spring Awakening (STC), and Rock of Ages (New Theatricals). Mark was also Assistant Director to Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) on the new musical Doctor Zhivago.

Mark also Directed, Co-Wrote and Co-Produced the Australian feature film Backyard Ashes, which was his feature film debut. Mark has also directed TVC’s for Doctors Without Borders and IGIFTWINE as well as corporate film projects for Macquarie University, The Professional Standards Council and UNSW. Mark is currently writing the screenplay for the film “74”, the true story of the 1974 World Cup Socceroos as well as developing his next feature film The Merger.
